MCP Permissions
Each MCP server supports tool-level permission control. For each tool exposed by a connected MCP, you can configure one of three permission levels.
Permission Levels
| Level | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Always Allow | The tool is always permitted to run without any additional checks |
| Approval | The user is prompted to approve each invocation before the tool runs |
| Block | The tool is always blocked and cannot be invoked |
Configuring Permissions
To configure tool permissions for a connected MCP:
- Navigate to MCP Servers in the dashboard
- Expand the MCP server to view its available tools
- For each tool, select the desired permission level from the dropdown
Permission changes take effect immediately for that gateway.
